Angel Card for the Week of April 26th 2010

Ano-Hou (answer to a prayer) Life Enhancement!

Is it possible, that you have been taking yourself and life too seriously lately?

You have heard that you’re not getting out alive anyway, right?

Yesterday, while outside admiring nature’s exquisite beauty on the burgeoning green, softly rolling hills of our land, I was captivated by my fur-son, the colossal ‘Onyx’, my Great Dane, one of the most dignified and regal looking of all breeds.
Coming from a long line of the world’s most ribboned Champions, he stood majestic, perfect frame, chest thrust out, tummy tucked in (I use to be able to do that ) his jet black colouring against the cerulean blue sky, my oh my, I was downright gobsmacked I was, by what a kingly portrait he displayed!

My incredible fur-son… ~my beautiful boy~… I couldn’t help but audibly gasp at his stunning nobility…

And then he did it…

He had been carrying in his jaws, as is his weekend pleasure, a massive, raw beef femur, (thigh bone of a cow) which he now, just for the ‘fun of it’, hurled up into the heavens as he stood his full 6ft. tall on his hind legs. He leapt into the air, purposely missing ‘catching’ it, just so he could leap up again and again, repeating the performance, with more enthusiasm and excitement each time, until he couldn’t stand the frenzy anymore and broke into a full out, bronco-kicking run in wider and shorter circles until he decided it was time to pounce upon the femur ‘prey’ and ‘kill’ it, once more…

OH sure, you’d think that was all the ‘play’ this noble character could muster in one outing, but no…

As his mighty jaws clamped down on the now, absolutely, thoroughly dead beef bone, his giant nose caught a grand whiff of the pungent, fresh grass beneath him, so he decided with nose and shoulder to the ground and butt thrust up in the air, to glide his way several feet until his muscular form was completely stretched out across the grass and stopped right at the precipice of one of the hills…

I shook my head and smiled broadly at this very ‘unkingly’ position he had adopted…

But he wasn’t going for a ‘head shaking and a smile…’

He flipped upside down onto his back, ’shoved off’ with his left hind leg, and down the hill he tobogganed, ‘balls out’ (as they say) legs flailing in the air, hips wiggling madly for more momentum, pendulous lips flipped back exposing his sparkling pearly whites, twitching pink tongue escaping from his wide, open maw.

To the uninitiated, he may have appeared to be having a grand mal seizure… but no… This was Onyx… MY fur-kid, ~my beautiful boy~, ‘playing’… having Great Dane sized ‘FUN’… Honouring his ‘Inner Beast’… How he did it all in slow motion for me for extra effect, I’ll never know…

But he made me laugh till all the valleys and hills echoed in delight…
